Want to build a Better, Stronger Marriage?

Why choose this course

The Marriage Course is a free resource from Alpha International designed to help couples invest in their relationship and build strong marriages.  It runs over seven sessions, and Resurrection Life has adapted it by conducting the first six sessions over zoom and the last session in person to be held at our church.

Each session will start with a welcome from our Hosts, Natasha and Luke, followed by watching fun, insightful videos covering topics that are relevant for every couple like Good Sex or Resolving Conflict.  In short? Your marriage. But better.

Relationship Tools

Learn practical tools to deepen your connection and keep the spark alive.

Enjoy private, intimate conversations as a couple, giving you the space to engage openly and honestly throughout each session.

The Marriage Course has been run in over 117 countries for over 1.5 million couples since its inception in 1996.

Gain insights from interviews with leading psychologists, authors, and psychosexual specialists.

Translated into 45 languages, created for use in any country, by any church or organisation using pre-prepared video material by world-leading experts.

We will be conducting the marriage course in a hybrid mode; the first six sessions will be conducted over zoom and the final session in person at Resurrection Life. This final session will begin like a date-night setting with a special meal to be shared by the couple.

FAQs

The Marriage Course (and The Pre-Marriage Course) was developed in 1996 by Nicky and Sila Lee (authors of The Marriage Book) for couples wanting practical support to strengthen their relationship. It equips couples with tools and techniques to stay connected.
There is no group work; all conversations are private between each couple.

No, The Marriage Course @ Resurrection Life Church is Free.  However, each participant needs to purchase a Guest Journal for personal use ie each couple needs to purchase 2 Guest Journals.  Each journal costs $22.99 each, and will be made available for purchase through your host.

The Marriage Book was written by Nicky and Sila Lee, founders of The Marriage Courses.  This book is not required for this course.  You can find it in Koorong or on Amazon, as an e-book version, suitable for Kindle.

On the final in-person session,

  • When you arrive you would be seated in a private setting for two, as each couple should have privacy and not have to share anything about your relationship with others.
  • You would be served a meal in a romantic setting while listening to practical talks.
  • Background music will ensure privacy for your conversations.

Yes. To get the most out of The Marriage Course or The Pre-Marriage Course we recommend you try to attend every session, but if you miss one, ask the course organiser to send you the missed session’s episode. Then you can work through it with your Guest Journals in your own time. (We do not recommend trying to do the whole course by yourself.)

If you’ve been in a de-facto relationship for more than two years and are not engaged nor considering marriage, you are recommended to take The Marriage Course.
If you’ve been living together or married for less than a year and don’t have major issues to address, it’s a great idea to consider The Pre-Marriage Course.

While The Marriage Course and The Pre-Marriage Course are based on Christian principles, they are designed for couples with or without a Christian faith. They are welcoming to couples of any faith or none.

Any couple is welcomed to attend The Marriage Course, whether married or in a long-term, de-facto relationship. The Pre-Marriage Course is ideal for engaged couples, newlyweds, or couples exploring the idea of marriage.

Currently, over 8,000 courses are run in 117 countries, in 45 languages.
